MTÜ Sa Suudad works to ensure that the voices of young people are truly heard and that every young person can feel valued and supported.
Our activities focus mainly on three areas: youth advocacy, support and inclusion.
The voice of young people counts
We collect and share young people's experiences, opinions, and suggestions to raise awareness of the needs of young people and contribute to the development of a more understanding and youth-friendly society.
We develop supportive opportunities
We create practical interventions that support young people in difficult moments, such as experienced trustee program, which offers support and role models for those who need a trusted adult by their side.
We offer support and knowledge
We are ready to support, advise and train parties related to youth, e.g. those close to young people, specialists working with young people, other adults who come into contact with young people and young people themselves (e.g. seminars, workshops, various training courses, networking).
We carry out our activities by involving young people, respecting their ideas, experiences, and decisions.
What we have mainly done so far
- Participation in the NULA incubator (Experienced Trustee Program Development May 2024 – March 2025)
- Youth Council or CAB Leadership (May – December 2025)
- Organizing a panel discussion “Are adults failing in their relationships with today's youth” (8 young experts)
- Participation in various seminars/trainings – young people themselves (e.g. Restorative Justice conferences, Child Protection Association seminar, “Signs of Safety” training; podcast, “On the Same Side, on the Child’s Side”, “Evening Show”).
- The Social Mimisterium has involved us (to provide feedback on the intention to develop a child protection law, to introduce an optional protocol)
- Workshops, counseling (young adults, schools, organizations), training
We will be (re)created from the summer of 2026 youth council, with which we want to give young people with fewer opportunities, or young people who have or have had (high) risk behavior, a voice in society. We include young people who have come into contact with the legal, health, educational and social systems in the youth council, who, through supported guidance and guidance, can feel understood, heard and accepted, and through the youth council process, influence the legal, health, educational and social systems to become more child and youth-friendly, i.e. they can contribute to the processes that affect the lives of these young people.
The objectives of MTÜ Sa Suudad for the next two years (2026-2027) are:
- Develop the MTÜ Sa Suudad management strategy, including increasing the management and substantive participation of the NGO's youth advisors in the organization's activities;
- Strengthen the capacity and visibility of MTÜ Sa Suudad as a youth association;
- To develop young people's skills to participate in social processes, to contribute to the strategic development of the field of youth and child protection;
- Ensure the effective implementation and sustainability of existing projects (youth council and experienced trustee program);
- Ensure systematic assessment and analysis of the impact of NGO activities.
MTÜ Sa Suudad 2030 vision
MTÜ Sa Suudad is a competence center in the field that supports young people, their loved ones and specialists in difficult situations, helps prevent and mitigate risk behavior, and creates opportunities together with young people to achieve better well-being for young people.
- We also offer support for young people's loved ones and families to help strengthen family relationships and support young people through their loved ones.
- We support networking by creating connections between different parties to ensure effective and responsive support for young people.
- We raise awareness in society about the needs of young people in order to change public perceptions.
- We support greater participation and decision-making rights for young people to participate in processes that affect them, including policymaking.
