YOUTH VOICE

“My parents were at work all the time, so I was alone a lot of the time.”

“"My family nagged me too much. I would have liked an energetic approach, not a morbid state: energy reflects energy.".

Phrases like: “I am an energy vampire”; “Act normally”; “I talk too much”

“Nobody listens, we are not equal, adults don’t listen to us.”

“No one took my concerns seriously.”

“"I told the school psychologist about my concerns, but the conversation turned to school."”

“Everyone asks why you did it: that's already an assessment.”

“My mother is too much of a worrier, and that's why I don't really talk to her about my worries.”

“Forcing things”

“"They tried to shut me down in every possible way, but they wouldn't listen to my concerns."”

“Going to the specialist was humiliating – he criticized me all the time.”

“"I felt like the specialist wasn't interested at all, I'm a bum here, a youngster. Or maybe I'm stuck in childhood, grow up.."”

“The specialist got in the car, turned the music up loud and didn’t listen to me.”

“I was shouted at”

“With every assessment, I closed myself in more. I didn't share what was going on, I was afraid of the assessments.”

“If they say bad things, they don’t want to accept help.”
